Arrow DVD Navi Tips and Tricks

OK, let's get our Navi gurus together and come up with all the nifty tricks you can do with your TL Navi!

I have the version 2.03 DVD Navi on a 2002 TL-S. Here are all the tricks I've found so far:
  • You can touch your car icon to show your current position.
  • You can touch the satellite icon to show satellite info.
  • On the main menu (after pressing OK on the disclaimer screen), you can hold down the MENU, MAP/GUIDE and CANCEL keys down (press them in that order) to bring up a diagnostic screen.
  • The easiest way to cancel your current destination: Press MENU, then PLAN NEW TRIP.
  • Holding down the joystick for 10 seconds switches between day/night mode. You can also do this by entering the Setup screen and selecting DAY or NIGHT.
  • You can use your joystick to point at any point on the map. Pressing the joystick button in will show you the location's street address.
  • You can use your joystick to point at Point-of-Interest icons on the screen. Pressing the joystick button will bring up a list of the businesses at that point of interest.

What else? Come on, you know a trick or two!

When the screen is idle, with the stars, displaying the time on bottom right, you can touch the time, and it enlarges and moves to the center of the screen. Pushing the time again returns it to the corner.

In addition to what you pointed out on “You can use your joystick to point at any point on the map. Pressing the joystick button in will show you the location's street address”…

…If you double press that location with the joystick, the Navi will give you the option to map you to that exact location.

Also if you press the “North Indicator” in the upper right, it will toggle your view between true north bearing view and back to regular view.

Good job with the tips—lets keep them coming.

BTW, I wrote a 1,500 word article that was published in LPT1 last year called Driven Never To Be Lost Again
Consider a GPS Navigation System in your next vehicle

Actually, what I do is press Menu twice to cancel my trip. That way you don't have to look down for the 'Plan New Trip' button.

Correct. I press MENU, MENU, then MAP/GUIDE to return to the map.
