Double Checking Something.... please help

Tonight I am installing aftermarket amps for my speakers. I am also adding tweeters. I'm keeping the stock door speakers and stock wires. I'm adding my own subs. I have some questions. My plan is as follows...

Part 1:
- Cut the output wires from the HU and convert them to RCA (before the EQ). This is my signal to my aftermarket crossover. From the aftermarket crossover I will be feeding my new door speaker amp and subwoofer amp. Now, what wires do I look for so my signal is unaltered (full range)?

Part 2:
- Now I will be running my speakers wires from the aftermarket amp back to the HU area. I want to use the factory wires but I don't want to use the factory EQ (obviously) so what wires am I looking for here? I basically want to bypass the EQ and use my crossover to balance sound.

Part 3:
- I'm also adding Tweeters to the front doors. Should I use an inline crossover (supplied with tweeters) and tap off the current stock door speaker wires?

Thanks,
Brian

My guess is the front and rear (L&R) wires.

Not sure. I had some labor done. The installer spliced into the front and rear speakers wires for me to convert to line level. The wires are located behind the front passenger kick panel. There you will find the factory amp.

Yes. You can dop this.

Thanks,
Brian
Now I have a question for you. Once you find out where, adn what color, the remote switch-on wire is for the aftermarket amp, I would greatly appreciate you sharing this.

I actually ran a whole new wire from the fusebox on the drivers side to a distribution block in my trunk. I jumped off a port in the fusebox that is tied into the ignition.

yup. I mounted all my amps on my subwoofer box. I drilled little holes in the box near the terminals on each unit and ran all the wires inside the box. I used the same size drill bit so the box still remains sealed (somewhat). I then mounted two fuse blocks outside the box. I ran a wire (w/ inline fuse) from the battery to one of the fuse blocks and another wire from the driverside fusebox to the other fuse block. Each fuseblock has distribution and feed feed my amps & crossover. Then I ran straight wires from the amps ground to the car's chassis. They turn on and seem to be getting sufficent power.

I know it's a theives dream to have everything mounted on the box but I hate installing this **** in all my cars. It's nice to run just 2 wires and have a whole system setup and ready to go. Takes 10 minutes to install and 10 minutes to remove.

I tried inserting the remote turn-on wire into several of the slots, while forcing the fuse back in, but still can't get it to work. Which fuse port did you use? Do you think that if it is too difficult to describe, that you could take a photo of this and send me via email?

You need to upgrade your factory speakers because an aftermarket amplifier will toast them in time. You can use a remote power adapter made by DEI. Part number is 55000. I use it to tie into factory radios all the time. Use that signal to feed your crossover. Use the crossovers supplied with your aftermarket tweeters. Good Luck!
