Maybe it was just time (wear and tear).

When you say "blew", what do you mean? Stopped playing or the surround cracked/separated?

quality speakers blow because of distortion, distortion means lack of clean power. in other words when you attempt to turn the volume up way over the limits of your amp, thats why its always better to have an amp that can outrate the clean (rms) power capabilities of your subs, that way when you turn the juice up the speaker is always recieving clean power. When amps cant handle a certain load, their output distorts and the voice coils dont know what to do , at this point the speaker blows mechanically. (voice coil heats up and burns).

BTW im not sure what your amp's capabilities are, what are its specs vs the speakers and what setup are you running, ie bridged, 2 ohm, etc etc.

the set up im currently running is a jl1000.1 connected to my 2 10 orions and a jl300.4 for my infinity kappa 62.7 and 63.7 series highs and mids. basically the voice coil on one of the 10 separated from the woofer and on the other 10 you can were the voice coil on it is falling apart. the speakers are no more than 5 months old. warranty is still good on them.

yeah, it sounds like you need JL Audio 12's and a soundstream amp.

Make sure the box is custom fab'ed to specs whether your going with a ported, or sealed enclosure.
