Don't buy this POS...

Harman Kardon is introducing an iPod gadget with a wireless FM modulator (hack-thpui!).

They called it a solution, but anything with a wireless FM modulator can only be part of the problem.

I think the only two good things that are wireless in the car are Bluetooth and Wireless Remotes for aftermarket HUs

Sounds like junk. I have an iTune and had a Belkin FM Transmitter prior. To be perfectly honest, they both are terrible. You can only get a halfway decent signal if you hold your iPod. I gave up on it and just bring CDs now.

hold on a sec....it also has....

a 3.5mm audio output jack that connects Drive + Play to any vehicle that has an auxiliary input; and an auxiliary input that allows the user to use Drive + Play to route other audio signals, including satellite radio, into the vehicle's audio system.

I agree that the FM modulator is CRAP x 10, but if you are already running a aux input, this might not be a bad buy.

Looks like they pulled the story... but here's a blurb:

Maybe they are rewriting that press release : )

My store has a google ad which comes up if you google "iPod" in the Portland Metro area, with "FM Modulators suck" as the headline. Amazed that Google let me do that : )

I think this thing is actually pretty cool. It's got a line out, and an aux in on it, so you can have 2 aux devices including the ipod.

Unfortunately I woke be getting it (at least I don't think). The display is too large, the external controller knob is too big, and it doesn't have steering wheel controls.

I was hoping, when I read the press release, that the jog wheel would be on the display module, and that the display would be the size of the display on my Sirius Starbase. That way I could have the Starbase and the Drive+Play screen tucked away in the under-radio-pocket, and it'd be awesome.

Sadly, it's just too big.
