My reciever is going to be the Alpine DVA 7996 with the Alpine F-1 status multi-media processor. Looks like you may have picked out a CDA-7998.

Very nice piece of work.

not too bad of a price at all. I will check my local shop and see what they say but with a kit and what not that seems right

I've spent over $10K on my last 3 cars at this store over the past 7 years. I'm a "valued customer" and they are also a small shop, so whenever I go to car shows, race tracks, or cruise nights, I pop the trunk and put out some business cards for them I wonder fi I could still use my steering wheel controls

As long as the headunit has an infrared remote you can keep your steering wheel controls...

I could ask, but they really give you a deal if THEY install it. I've gotta wait until after X-Mas to even step foot in the store

Nicky,

My deck is very similar to the 7998. There is somebody on the forum who has this installed. The deck online costs around $550. If they will do a custome plate and install it for you, it sounds like a pretty good deal. I did receive my plate for my head unit. I will probably install sometime after christmas.

Which headunit do you have? If your headunit has a wireless remote you can just use one of these:

I have it....

I have the CDA-7998 installed in my car. I had the faceplate made by StreetEffectz. Now just for you to remember, if you have the NAVI, you'll also have to mount the small A/C Control Box that is on top of the Factory Headunit.

I can give you the link of my pics if you want.

first of all, if you can wait until mid Jan. to see what the manufacturers will be offering.
Second, as anybody will tell you, no body makes a kit for the CLS yet (If I am wrong, please tell me). I just installed my old fosgate head unit, and a purely custom kit had to be made.

I would save my money for now and wait, I think some cool stuff is coming!!

Cool, I lost voice when I put that deck in. (I knew that would happen) so what I want to know, is did you get voice back, and if so how? If not, its no biggie, cos I am stuffing the factory deck back in when I sell it, so as to get max value back.

XM kicks ass!!! You will love it. I don't even listen to my regular radio anymore.
