99CL CD Changer install...

I have a used Alpine 5960 CD Changer that I want to install in my wifes 99CL Coupe. It has a Bose Head unit. Are '99's wired any different than 97-98? It has a 10' cable with a round 8 pin connector. Will I need an adapter. Read something about pins being swaped on Alpines. Is there a factory plug-in hid in the trunk or do I need to use that long cable? What is under that black cap slotted cap in the back of the trunk that just spins when turned? Do I need to pull the center console to plug into the back of the stock Radio? I downloaded instructions from the "InstallDoctor" on how to do that. Is there an easyer way?

Thanks for the help... John

You'll need a Honda/Acura to Alpine changer adapter... which can be found at best buy or circuit city, where you'll probably find the best price compared to a car stereo shop. That adapter plugs into the deck end of the cable, and the cable assembly then plugs into the rear of the head-unit... Theres only one way to get the head-unit out, and the changer plug cannot be accessed any other way.

Great information, thanks for the reply! Kind of thought that was the scoop but wasn't sure. I can get the adaptor and do the install in one shot without messing around. Thanks a lot!
Still haven't figured out that little slotted round thing in the floor of the trunk near the back.... ? Thanks again! John
