Do you really think the stock Audio Equipment is that bad???
NOT TALKING ABOUT ADDING A TV OR DVD OR ANYTHING ELSE!!! I AM JUST ASKING ABOUT THE HEAD UNIT AND SPEAKER SET UP. I am not questioning that it is cool to add a TV.
Do you really think the stock Audio Equipment is that bad??? I have had my car 9 months or so, and love it to death, even the stereo... I think it use a little more bass, so i am going to install a Infinity Basslink http://www.cbrstereo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code =C&Product_Code=IKB&Category_Code=IS
I think that will be just enough for me. I was planing on hooking it up using the speaker level inputs and getting the signal right off the 9" bose sub. But besides that, I think it is a good set up. I am not sure why everyone is putting in MB Quarts and stuff, it seems like that would only be worth it if you want to pull out the HU, and the car looks dumb with an aftermarket HU IMHO...

I am not saing adding a TV isnt a cool thing, but just having a Sony or Eclipse or whatever head unit thrown in, it just doesnt look right b/c it is to hard to match the interior and also the hole is not the right size...
have you ever listened to a completely aftermarket system? im assuming you havnt
i agree with you on the head unit. i decided not to change it
you either want a factory interior, or flawless sound

The system is not as good as an after market one, but it is one of the best stock systems i've heard. I still have my after market amps, speakers, crossovers, etc, from my previous vehicles. I'll post pics of that stuff later

Actually you can have an aftermarket setup that looks flawless in the tl.. I have the woodkit frm acura which has a hole for the factory head. Usign that space and only doin slight mods you can replace everythign behind the wood. I'm doing my system in the next month putting in an eclipse head and in indash 6 disc taking up most fothe area with the wood filling over to the sides.

I went from a 155.8db (in competition) stereo system directly to the TL. I'm GLAD it's not that loud. Maybe a little more bass would be nice, but if I start with that I know I'll go tooooo far again. I already have tinnitus thanks to the 4 12" Punch DVC's I had in my Talon. They were loud as hell though and I enjoyed, but permanent ringing in the ears REALLY SUCKS!!
I think the stock TL system sounds really good. I don't understand what these people are listening to when they say "no highs, no lows, must be Bose" I think it sounds REALLY good, especially for stock!

I couldent agree with you more i have been an installer for 12 years and i must say i am pretty happy with the stock system. i am also suffering from slight ringing and hearing loss i did add some tweeters to the stock system and have been thinking about adding a little more bass but it dosn't bother me enough to replace anything.
a lot of people on here have complained about the thin cheasy stock speakers but what they dont realise is that a flimsy lightweight cone actually has a lot better transients than a heavy poly cone i think the sound of the stock system is pretty well balanced for most of the spectrum except for the way high and way lows thats the reason i am and have done the above mentioned.

formerly 98 prelude type SH
Currently 2001 Acura 3.2 TL With Navigation Black/Ebony
And not to mention.. the target for the TL is 40-45 year olds.. who don't necessarily need to go BOOM BOOM all day long.. but I jacked my up accord when I need that much volume.
