Do I have the right model of IceLink?

Hi guys

I bought an IceLink Plus that said was compatible with my head unit (Or soon to be) on my 02 TL-S. It is the [I20_HONDA_R2] edition. Is this the one that works with the TL just fine in the 6 disc changer output?

ANother question of mine is if I want XM radio how do I go about having both? I think I do want both and I"d rather only want to open my dash once to get it done right.

Thanks.

It's the right part # but chances are it will not work. Most people can't get it to work correctly.

That would explain it. Dension can't sell in the states. And there's a reason why it was only $5 bucks :o

I'm in Canada, but as far as I know the DICE one is just as bad as this one, true or false? The forums say it's true. I have no other choice

It would the first I've heard of it in your year and model of car. I'll dig around the TL forums and see if I can find out somthing that hasn't been reported to me. But, a DICE kit would be alot more expensive.

I just want something that works. I'm pissed if this doesn't work, because they say it won't.

I just installed the Ice-Link Plus v2.02 in my '03 CL this weekend. Worked great at first. Now it's stuck showing CD1 and the number 3 is blinking. Think I just need to power cycle the CD player. Current firmware installed is 2.11 but 2.17 is the newest (just a matter of finding a place to download it from). I'll post more install instructions soon. The ones in the PDF are great but there are a couple steps that aren't needed (like removing the head unit and driver side knee cover). I'd love to get my hands on the source for the firmware (might have to look into that) and see what can be improved.

Mine works perfect!
It shows up as CD1 1-00 on the display and I hit the trakc change and it goes from like 00 to 06 or whatever when I'm on shuffle mode to change to the next song!
UNREAL VALUE!

How to you enter to select a menu? Manual says you press the 6 button to enter a menu but that seems to change it to playlist 6.

Oh I don't pay much attention to that. I just play my songs shuffled and change by the wheel that's all that matters.

Only thing I"m confused about is when I don't have my ipod plugged in on cd changer mode it will sometimes go to CD1 1-00 when I can change songs from the wheel
sometimes it just goes CD 1 and flashes on 1 and I can't use the wheel

How can I keep only the first option to occur

That's the buggy unit. I had the same thing happen & it wound up permanent. Flashing 1 & I could not control anything.

A couple times I've had it flash 1 or 3 or whatever. Still let me go forward tracks but I couldn't change the playlist. After a while it resolved itself and worked fine again.

It flashes one but when I don't plug in my ipod for about 2 minutes it goes to cd1 1-99 and I can plug it in and change songs accordingly
Anyway I can permafix this?
Must be just an issue w/ the videos

Nope it's the Icelink. It doesn't play well with Acura HU's.

I was able to find a number of newer versions of firmware by searchin' around their website and FTP site. Haven't had a chance to try them yet.

That may work, but be warned it also may cause it to not work at all. Make sure you have the old firmware in case.

oh man...this is still an issue? I gave up long time ago. IT SUCKS! i was hoping to find some fix here . My unit does the same thing as fuzzy's. I pretty much don't use it anymore. Big waste of money. I would be happy with manual control. That is all I really want. I even have two different IC's.
I love having the holder with the icelink.

All I'd like to do is be able to get through the menu to the point where you can change it so you can control things with the iPod itself (playlists, etc) and just volume and forward track with the steering wheel. Maybe I'll get around to flashing some of these new firmware versions at some point and see if any of them work.

They don't work. The 3.0x bricked my icelink. Doesn't even show up on cd changer anymore looks like I"m going to have to do some troubleshooting or call Dension and Yell at them. It was only 20 bucks but it's not the price it's th time I put into opening the god damn dash. I hope I can find a way to hard reset the thing

The latest version of firmware is 2.17 for the latest version of hardware which is 2.02. Ice-Link Plus firmware version 2.17 can be downloaded here.

Here's another firmware page. Remember your on your own with this stuff. If it doesn't work you won't likely be able to get support for it.
