DECODER AND NAVI playing VIDEO PICTURES!!!!
This is more an audio question than video, but let me take a stab at it. I've been known to make the impossible possible ;}. If the Acura CL amp is separate from the stereo, you might be able to tap-in. But, here are a few problems to overcome.
1. The amp's volume is regulated at the stereo, so you better use a source that has an adjustable volume, such as portable DVD player and use the headphone jack.
2. If you simply tap-in then there might be sound from the stereo coming out too. You probably need to 'intercept' the audio to the amp.
3. Input impedance and amplitude might be mismatched between your new audio source and the amp, causing hum or overdriving the amp causing distortion.
All in all not such a great solution to save $70.
One other solution that offers A/V switching, TV tuner and a wireless RF modulator is Clarion's TTX7601 (http://www.clarion-usa.com). This would work good with Video On My Navi kit.

Man, If I've got $$$ I'd order one of these badboys right away. But since it doesn't have a TV tuner, I don't think it's worth it as much. I'll wait till you come out with a solution to that.

That would be the Clarion Model #: VDH910
VHS Hi-Fi Video Cassette Player with Tuner right Steve? So your saying that reception is bad when moving? How is the reception when not moving?
Ron(Streeteffectz): How much does it cost to install the "Video converter kit" and Clarion vcr/tv tunner, and a ps2 into the TL. I would like to put the ps2 under the passenger seat and the vcr into the glovebox or storage box in the middle or anywhere else.

Steve,
The VCR has to be plugged into the cigarette lighter (12V DC)? So, what do I need to purchase to power the TV tuner, power antenna, and your navi decoder? Will I need some type of multi-plug adapter? And if so, will the one outlet power all these devices safely? What about battery drain?

The Video On My Navi decoder is powered by the Navigation system. It draws <1 amp power. No plug or adapter is required, including cigarette lighter plug. The Deluxe unit provides power output for an audio RF modulator. Other items like VCR's, TV Tuners might need to be wired to your cars electrical system.

On the sound problem with the navi-video kit, instead of using the RF Modulator could you use the Alpine KCA-801B? Street Effectz wrote in an earlier message that he carries them and it seems like it would work in this instance.
> If anyone has auxiliary sources they want to hook up, like dvd/vcr/playstation audio, the part is Alpine KCA-801B (not an FM modulator, it is a box with RCA inputs that will play through your CD Audio lines...much better than modulator). This would be used with the CHA-S624 Ai net changer.

*** I'll be gone for 2 weeks ***
Thanks for all the great questions and orders. For those of you with kits on order, don't worry - I'm taking parts with me on vacation to finish more Video On My Navi Kits.
Hope to see a few pictures from people who have installed and are using Video On My Navi soon!
Thanks,
Steve

Hey steve the kit you sold me doesn't work, the nav screen shows up, but when switched tothe video mode. NOTHING SHOWS UP!!
the only thing I noticed is that the light on the switch is on when is in navi mode, and it is off in video mode. Also there is one single yellow wire that isn't connected to anything, and nothing was said in the instruction to connect that yellow wire.
??????
Please help

Let's take this one step further!
SteveStMS: Have you tried hooking up a PC to this marvel you've created? If so, have you (or anyone) tried using some kind of touch-screen MP3 player? I've never thought of this possibility, but it's very real now that I have a TL!
The nearest I can come up with is something called "Softplayer". You can read all about it here: http://softplayer.co.uk/
Oh the possibilites!!

Traveling in rural Mexico (without email), except for Internet Cafe in big town of La Paz.
For the 2 people installing Deluxe Video On My Navi Kits, I have sent instructions to change 4 wires to get proper video. Ron (StreetEffectZ) has these changes and future kits will not have this problem.
Sorry for the glitch.
SteveSt
P.S. Will respond to emails when back Feb. 28th.
