Custom Trunk

Just thought I'd throw up some pics of our progress on my trunk.
They're in no particular order.

NICE!!! I can't wait to revise my trunk situation (not lucky enough to have a heated garage). Keep up the good work!

My fav. hue is Ag. blue, too

Wow it is looking good. I guess you are going to use the spare tire space as a fibre-glass enclosure. Just make sure you use at least 3-5layers as I heard some pretty crappy base out of those fibre glass enclosures. Keep up posted and are you doing all the install and work all by yourself??

Thanks but naw we've kinda informally named this job "The Fifth Wheel" born from that the trunk will house a full size (19") spare when we're done.
The sub enclosures will sit on either corner (pics 8 & 9), while the amps reside on the rack at the rear (pic 7). All the work's being done at my shop

I manage a shop here in Nor-Cal; so between fixing up the shop and working on other clients cars the installers are all mine. And the parts (resin, fiberglass, bondo, wood and misc tools) they don't get too expensive maybe a couple hundred bux or so.

As far as using the trunk..... well, I havent really decided how that'll work. I mean yeah, there's space enough to store whatever i want but using the trunk without scratching the finnish is what I'll need to address at some point.

LOL yeah. Most of that MDF will be cut away after the rear pieces are done. But either way the emphasis here is on strength (both for durability and SQ) not on weight and that’s where the Teins and S/C come in

the bad news is that we don't have a 5th wheels anymore, Mackin only shiped me 4 wheels so I'm gonna have to re-think a a few things?

BTW: I need somme help deciding on what color I should paint it. All the guys think ABP would be nice but i'm not sure, I told the shop that if they dont hear from me by monday to just go with that. So I have the weekend to think about it. any1 have a better idea.

My thoughts:
ABP = Too toy'ish.
Black = Nice but it u wont be able to see the details and lines.
Silver = Probably my favorite but it wouldn't go with the car.

maybe it's just me, maybe i get a chubby at the thought of sound deadening, but if you're doing what it looks like you're doing, you may want to get a few more layers of dynamat under there before work goes too far
