And yeah, generally, sub/port back is louder in a trunk. Now, if you can seal off the front baffle of your box from the rest of the trunk, then they will be louder with the subs/port front, but that's quite a bit of work...

here is my 1st system in the ack. was done with a lot of help from mattastick. It was loud but I just wasnt happy with the sound. Also it was sub up only because i didnt think i could fit it sub back

Then next was this

Now this I put the amp in the front of the box and man it wangs so much harder now much be more flow into the cabin

As you can tell im sure my box building skills have gotten much better since the 1st build

Bandpass boxes are very finicky. If they're not designed correctly, they will sound absolutely terrible. When they are done correctly, they are one of the best type of boxes. The problem is in the design. It is very difficult to do (I can design all the ported boxes you want, but I have absolutely no idea on a bandpass) and they (generally) aren't easy to build. If you can get someone to design it, or you can figure it out, be my guest, and it will sound awesome. Bandpass boxes (when done correctly) produce the flattest response curve of any type of box, and this creates a great sounding box. Good luck if that's what you decide to do, but the easiest way to get loud is a simple ported box.
