compustar problem already... i've had it for like an hour... (any insight apprec.)

So when I remote start the car, the stock alarm goes off.

what gives?

The 'certified compustar dealer' was closing when I called them, and told me to bring it in whenever's good for me tomrorow (first thing)

aparently the Crimestopper CANSL or whatever they used didn't disarm the factory alarm in the right way... so they're going to have to rewire something in the door???

anyone have any insight on this? I'm not sure how excited i am about them screwwing with the stock wiring harnesses. (if thats what they're going to do)

They did not disable the factory alarm, it's in the driver side door. I can't believe these guys would let you drive off without disabling the factory alarm ..

compustar aparently works in conjunction with teh stock alarm doesn't it??? i mean horn goes off with when the compustart goes off... isn't that how its suppposed to be?

compustar was a must for me beacuse I wanted the added protection against remote start with the 6spd in my TSX

Yes, the factory alarm disarm wire is in the door and has to be hooked to the disarm wire from the compustar - simple fix.

On the 97- the disarm no unlock wire is under the passenger seat, at the factory alarm - Blue, pin B8 it will read negative when the key is turned in the driver's door. I posted instructions in the first gen forum a while ago to allow you to completely disable the alarm or integrate it with an aftermarket alarm as well as how to keep your trunk pop without having the factory alarm go off- It disables the factory alarm's trunk pin input but still keeps your cluster's input (ergo- the cluster will tell you if the trunk is open or not). It's a simple fix- but I would be worried about the integrity of the installation, if the installer printed a techsheet is a matter of following instructions to do the install- if that cant even be accomplished- no bueno. Hope all works out for ya.
