Component speakers that fit theTSX
I'm looking to upgrade my stereo system in my 08 TSX with Component Speakers. Does anyone have recommendations for component speakers that produce excellent sound and fit with out major spacing modifications.
Id like to keep the cost of a set around $150
I was looking at the Infinity Reference 6020cs but Crutchfield says they do not fit.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

when Crutchfield says they don't fit, it probably means that you need spacers because the speakers are too deep for your doors... This isn't hard to fix, just get some spacers either MDF or plastic, and throw them between the door and speaker, and you're done...

MDF is Medium Density Fiberboard. It's what most people make sub boxes out of, due to a good combination of strength, density, and price. If you can afford it, birch is the best, but it's like 2.5 times the price of MDF...
I just thought of something, you are planning on powering these with an external amp, right? you won't truly see the added sound until you're pushing them correctly... I'd feed those Infinity's at least 75 rms, something that's not going to happen without an external amplifier...

Thanks again. Yes, I do plan on powering these with an external amp. This will be my first amp install, therefore I'm in the process of researching how hook up the amp correctly in the TSX. I'm pretty handy with electronics, but just want to get it 100% right the first time.
I understand how to power, remote on off, and ground the amp,but am still unclear how to get the signal from the HU to the amp then to the speakers.

enjoy... It's the same idea for an amp to power a set of components...

I understand now how to get the signal to the amp, i would use a LOC tapped after stock amp output.
I'm still unclear how to get the amplified signal from my new amp to all the speakers? do I have to run connections from the output of my amp to all the speakers in the car?

There are 2 ways to get signal from your aftermarket amp to your new speakers:
1. Run all new speaker wire. This can be a pain, but you know where your wires are (if something were to go wrong) and you know the quality of wires used...
2. cut the speaker wire outs on your factory amp, and run connecting wires from your aftermarket amp channels to the factory wires... this way is (possibly) going to be easier, but you don't know anything about the condition of the wires, size, etc.
Personally, I'd do #1. that's what I did in my car. It doesn't take too long, and it's not that hard (unless you're trying to run 2 sets of 12awg speaker wire into your doors...) but really, it's not too bad... And I have 2 sets of components in my car, all with new wiring...
