comparing NAV systems...
has anyone compared your NAV system with any other cars? i saw a lexus gs400 with NAV before, and i loved it. so when i got my TL i got NAV. but although it's fast and easy to use, it doesn't have the "MARK POINT" function. i find that a big pity. but other than that, it's pretty good. anyone else have complaints about the TL NAV system?
my complaint is that it was $2000 and i didn't get it

My only complaint is that it takes some odd routes sometimes. But if I am totally lost, it would get me out, so not much of a complaint, I love it. Havent seen other ones with the LCD, only the ones in the Audi S4, bah!

What is mark point? I'm not sure what you are refering to but if you want to store a location, click on the arrow that represents you. Then on the screen where it shows your coordinates, you can save your current location.
What is Mark Point? is that like saving a location you're interested in for later use? If that's the case then you can do that on the TL Nav.
And I hear some people say it takes off route sometimes to get to destination. I find that is the case also, but if you select "easy route" , sometimes it will eliminate those odd turns.
I notice that the Nav sometimes get off course when you're driving along tall buildings, I guess that is normal for all GPS. Next TL should include Differential GPS, which could be accurate to within a few centimeters
But I like never having to get lost again. It really helps if you have bad eyes and can't read the street signs.

Carpoint conducted a customer satisfaction survey and found the Acura nav system (Alpine NVE-N851A) the winner in highest satisfaction.

I went to the Washington DC. AUTO SHOW today at our Convention Center. I was looking at the Nav Systems in the cars that had them I think Lexus graphics on the screen look better then my TL.I was in the Lexus LS430 sedan & the Nav looks alot better. The Nav sits up high for good a good view. I don't know how good it is compared to the Acura system.I set in other cars like big BMW & BENZ with Nav they are mounted way to low.
The system in the TL is at a good level.
