Clifford 3.5 rsx interfer with navi?

My navi lost her voice on day, instead of giving me instructions, she bust buzzes. I took back to dealer and they told me something to do with the interference of an aftermarket antenna, a.k.a. my rsx reciever. Is that true? or is it something else? They were cool about it and told me to take off the reciever and see if it works, but i i'm sure aobut it, just want to know if anyone knows is this what is really going on? thank you

i have 03 tl's w/navi

This will be easy to test. The cable that plugs into the antenna delivers power to the antenna. Just unplug it and try your navi.

I don't know if those grounding cables are any different than you buying some wire at home depot. I guess the thicker the better and the shorter the better. Also the place you ground it to should be metal, if there is paint you can sand it down a little to the metal.

This is not a grounding problem. If there was a grounding problem the alarm would not work. The antenna houses the transmitter/receiver and this might be the cause of your problem.

alrite... bring an old thread alive... but here's the deal... i didn't want to take off the transmitter, but once my battery died when it sat there for a week, then i have to recharge it. After i recharged it it worked but then soon didn't work again. So what do you guys think?

THanks

depending on where you have the antenna for the alarm mounted it can cause interferance and be the victim of interferance. DEI even says as much in their installation manuals. I would suggest taking it to your installer, advising him of the situation and if he is somewhat competant than he ought to be able to move it to a location where your alarm will still work and the navi fully functions
