Anyone used Sirius Radio?
I end up driving a lot on Sunday's and hate missing football games (plus would love to hear games from other regions). I've been looking into Sirius radio since they have the NFL package, anyone used it before?
Specifically I'm looking at a portable unit, since I end up driving my TSX or old Accord beater on long trips and need to switch between both cars. Looks like the hardware would be $200 and service $150/yr.

receiver
car adaptor
Portable between different cars, and the receiver can be plugged into a stationary boombox unit as well.
xizor,
I am going with the same setup as Axygos. I bought the tuner and reciever off ebay and the adapter from Logjam. $312.00 total
I went with the kenwood since you can add the keg music system later.

here are the links to the auctions. I tried calling them to see if they had more of these units, but I got their answering machine.
I will install just as Axygos in the upper storage compartment.

Update to Install...
Quick update on the install... The controller (KCA-R71FM) from kenwood has a modulation box with wires for power, RCA inputs, antenna in-out, controller input and DIN output. These along with the SNHOND3 (or equivalent) plus a GLI (ground loop isolator) make the space behind the upper storage compartment quite scarce... I used some considerable force to replace the compartment into its original space... it would still "pop" out a little and make the door closure difficult... I thought I could live with it... but perfection (obsession) called...
Figuring I had already caused damage to the compartment (by drilling a hole for the wires), I went ahead with a saw and removed the back 2/3 of the compartment. That made the fit nice and factory again... plenty of space for those wires... The door closes perfectly now... Also mounting the contoller in it's own trim as high as possible also made the door opening much bettter... if you have any problems you can remove one or both of the rubber pads on the storage compartment door...
Lastly, as stated earlier in this thread, I went ahead and installed a Kenwood Music Keg... that was cake... it just daisy chained into the SIRIUS tuner...
Now there is more music then I know what to do with...
"Good luck with the install!"

Axygos .. I also ordered the music keg. I will be installing the system this week and if you could help me on a few things. Is it neccesary to have the GLI? If yes, where can I buy one of those and where do you install that? Did you install a line driver? why didn't you install the modulator under the seat or behind the glove box? Do you hook up the antenna leads from the modulator to the stock radio? I am asking , because the instructions to me aren't so clear. Thanks so much for your help.
Not sure if it's neccesary to have the GLI... I just went with it to prevent possible engine noise... used this thread as a reference: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...&highlight=aux
Basically, didn't want to try to fix a problem later... you know, get everything done in one step... Also with the GLI you don't need an additional RCA cable to connect the SNHOND3 to the controller box. Got it from RadioShack online as mentioned in the above thread... The GLI just connects the SNHOND3 to the controller box.
I did not install a line driver... the sound is a just bit quieter compared to the other factory components (eg. CD changer and radio) but it's easily corrected by increasing the volume... maybe a line driver would help... but I haven't needed to go that route yet.
Regarding the controller box... didn't put it under the seat because I didn't want to run any more wires, also there seemed to be plenty of room behind the storage compartment. As for behind the glove compartment... there's supposed to be some filter back there and also didn't want to take something else apart if I could avoid it...
You don't need to connect the antenna leads to the stock radio since your using the AUX feature (via the SNDHOND3)... mine is not connected... I just assumed all connections (especially unneccesary ones) reduce signal strength... and that's the last thing the FM in the TSX needs...
Hopefully that answered your questions...

Installed my sirius radio tonite. i'll post some pics tomorrow. I installed the controller in the sunglass compartment. perfect fit and it looks great. i mounted the modulator under the glove box close to the firewall. it has easy access and you can't see it at all. the snhond3 and the gli are behind the storage compartment. the tuner is in the trunk between the rear speakers. the antenna is sitting on the back deck..
install was very easy. music keg install next week!
