charging for radio code?
okay, so i read around about the radio code and went to my local dealership to get the code for my radio. he asked me if i unplugged the battery blahbalbh and i said yeah. he looks inside my passenger side glove compartment and trys to look for the code, he doesn't find it. soo he tells me i have to disassemble the whole unit and look in the back for the code and type it in myself. he says the maintaince guys would do it for me but for 100 bucks for labor
. as i hear, they're suppose to do this for me for free right? i have an acura, its registered and all that bulls***. couldn't they type in my vin# and get the code? he seemed like a very tricky fellow. i don't know if this true.. soo is the code really in the back? if so, does that mean i have to input the code myself, or do i have the access for them to do it for me? i hear a lot of you guys just went there and they did it for you quick. in and out. leme know guys. give a brotha some help!

I know on the TSX, there is a plastic piece in the engine compartment that has the radio code inside it. My battery went dead after I parked for 2+ weeks at the airport and the Acura TLC people talked me through finding it. It's been awhile, so I can't remeber exactly, all I can remember is that it was a black plastic piece on the driver's side toward the front of the car.
Hope that helps.

You can go to Acura Owner Link, register your VIN, and it will give you the radio code. If you bought it used I don't know if this will work without calling Acura Customer Service, but it should. https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com
Also, look all over the car, because they usually put the code in somewhere. Open the glove box and look on the outside pieces. Also, lift out the ash tray or whatever little holders they have and look on the bottom. And check the engine compartment, especially the fuse box, and also the fuse box inside the car.
If all else fails, they would need to remove the radio to get the serial number so they could check with Acura for the radio code, but that is the last resort and you should be able to get it some easier way.
