cdr's that play in our cars.
well i had a friend tell me about Verbatim cd-r (blue bottom). he and others were having the same issue on there lexus's and that is the cd that works best for them so i tried a pack. i burned about 25 cd's now randomly putting in a memorex and tdk cdr's and every one of the Verbatim played right away no problems- no waiting. the other two brands i randomly threw in none of the 5 cd's played. my burn speed was set at 32x. i just thought i would share this with those who would lke to try!
good luck!

I didn't buy a TL-S YET but I did take some cd's with me for one of the test drives. One of them was indeed a Memorex CD-R burned at 2X or 4X (I don't remember how fast). It played fine. I'm not sure if the burn speed really has anything to do with it really.

This must not be an issue in first gen TLs...
I've tried about a dozen different brands in my 97, all burned between 24 and 32 speed, and everything works flawlessly...

Which software do you use to burn CDs ? Can you also copy tracks from various CDs and compile them to a single burned CD ?
Newbie at this and never burned music CDs...
Thanks

There are a PILE of software packages. There would have been a burning program that came with your burner when you bought it. Most likely it will be Nero or Easy CD Creator.
All of them allow you to copy individual tracks to your hard drive (known as "ripping"), arrange them in any order you want, then burn them to a CD.
If you have a CD-ROM drive or a DVD drive in your computer as well, you can put an original in the CDROM drive and a blank disk in the burner and do a direct disc-to-disc copy.
If you use the first method remember that you MUST "finalize" the disc before you can play it in a regular cd player.
