cd changer pros... pleaze help...

I was wondering our headunit (mine is a 2000) would work with a 12 disc alpine changer... thanks.

don't think so because the 12-disc changers use the ai-net bus (oem changers and the appropriate alpine changer use m-bus) and i don't think the headunit would be able to access slots 7-12 (you might have to play them sequentially after slot 6).

Thanks Stan, but there was a converter out to convert ai net changers to be compatible with our unit... (I am currently using the 6 disc ai-net changer), but wanted to upgrade to the 12 disc. I was just wondering if our unit would be able to control a 12 disc changer...

No, it can't. It's not built into the unit. How would you use the stock buttons to access 7-12? And how would it show up on the screen? Assuming nothing changed between the 6 and 12 model aside from the extra 6 slots, then you should be able to control 1-6, but not 7-12, which would render a 12 disc useless.
