Post CD Changer???

If I were to buy the Alpine 620 CD Changer do I need to get anything else for it? I mean does the wire that comes with it plug directly in the the back of the radio and thats all you need to do. Do you need another wire for power to the cd changer?

as I understand it, the guy who installed my CD changer needed to run the cable from the head unit to the trunk. He charged me $70 for parts and labor and my Alpine changer works perfectly.

Hi StreetEffectz,

I hope you can help me:

I have a 99TL Non-Navi and I recently purchased a Blitzsafe HON/ALP DMX V.1 adaptor to connect to an Alpine CHM-S600 CD Changer.

When I tried to use the CD Changer, I got the message "EEE" on the radio screen. Then, if I switch off the car, the radio, then switch the ignition to the I position again, and turn on the radio, it works. Then after a while, it doesn't work again.

Have you seen such a problem in your installations? If so, how did you fix it? I surely hope I don't have a defective Blitzsafe adaptor! FYI, I am 100% certain that the CD Changer functions perfectly, since I have used it in another car for 2 years without any problems.

Thanks in advance for your help!

99TL, I seem to remember some people having the same problem. They replaced the cable and it worked fine from then on. Make sure that it is the correct cable as opposed to be it being defective.
