its a little more expensive sometimes but they are a great company to deal with. their website is really helpful if you need info and their customer service is excellent.

non-mp3 playback is still fine.
most important is the quality of the sound...

$150 isn't that much, but I would go with a low grade Alpine, Clarion or Eclipse.

yep... too bad Eclipse won't sell their stuff online

these would be my recommendations for around $150

Alpine CDM-9821

Clarion ProAudio DXZ535

no non-fading output though at this price, so if you plan on hooking up a sub I would spend a little more for a deck with an independent sub control.

Its actually amazing what you can get for $150 now. 5-6 years ago a deck with comparable features to either of these ^^ would probably cost over $400.

How abt JVC,PANASONIC,PIONEER,AIWA,SONY?

One of the reaons I dont wanna spend 2 much on it cos I gonna move to Berkeley.

Berkeley sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont wanna get up every nite to check whether cd player is still here or not!!!

In Berkeley, yr car is in danger every second(especially at nite).

yeah i buy all my stuff from crutchfield. they give very detailed specs for everything they sell, so you can decide yourself what will work best with the rest of your system.
if you have subs, just dont go thumpin them right around your new hood. if its like you say, everyone will know where that car is parked every night and that system will be gone mighty quick

These brands typically put more emphasis on flashing lights and special effects, less on sound quality and reliability...at least at the $150 level.
