capacitor broken?

well i was disconnecting the ground and power wire from the cap when i accidentally touched the two metals together while they were still on the cap because the tool i was using was metal. It sparked and blue the fuse under the hood. I didn't use the cap because i had a former amp that was broken and so i was stuck with a shitty 500 watt amp. I just got another 1500 watt amp and havent tried my capacitor yet. But do u guys think that my cap is broken?

nope.. i think the cap should be just fine... basically all you did was arc a cross the leads which basically discharges the cap.. a cap will store voltage like a battery.. usually when a cap goes bad it will either swell up on the end or it will discharge the dielectric inside of it (oilly substance.)..

probably fine. you can test it by seeing how long it keeps a light bulb illuminated. (common way of charging/discharging them).

agree with the two posts above....I've done that many many times over the years, your cap is/should be fine.. If you want you can check it with a tester (voltmeter)..... I've personally done that to a cap that was sitting for over a year and i still showed a perfect 12v..
