Can I upgrade the Head Unit and keep the stock speakers and amp?

Can I upgrade the head unit of a 2001 CLS and still be able use the factory speakers and amp? I was thinking about upgrading the head unit and still be able to use the stock speakers and amp. Any ideas would be appreciated.....

thanks

As long as you leave the speakers AND amp, you should be fine.

I've got alternative audio sources running to the stock amp and speakers and have no problems. And it sounds great too.

You'll just need to splice RCA connectors onto the input wires on the amp (you can probably do this behind the factory head unit) and plug them into your new head unit.

The speakers are supposedly some weird impedance, and will only work well with the factory amp.
