Question Can i add a mp3 cd changer ?

Hi all

I live in Denmark and drive the European version of The Acura TSX (Honda Accord). It is non-navigation and with just a single cd.

I would like to be able to play mp3 files and have looked at the Sony CDX-T70MX changer.

Will this unit connect directly to the stock head unit and will I be able to use the controls on the steering wheel for skipping tracks??

Regards Anders

The only MP3 kit that I know will work with the stock system is the OEM one offered by the dealer. Because you basically have our USDM Honda Accord interior, it is technically the same unit, but there are different brackets involved.

I'm not certain, but I believe if you get the OEM MP3 player, the steering wheel controls will work. If you use an aftermarket product, like a Sony unit, it will not work. The OEM stereo is a Panasonic just for reference.

If you get the SNHOND3, you can connect an approved Sony CD changer and the disc/track controls will work through the stock head unit.

I have read the thread about the SNHOND3, but i don't understand how it enables my to connect a Sony changer. It has a connector for the Stock head unit in one end and two RCA jacks in the other end. Dosen't a Sony changer have som kind of "bus connector" ??

I have also looked at the OEM MP3 player. I don't like because i takes up a lot of space in the dash board. Anyway it is not on the accessories list here in Denmark.

ohhh, I see it now. It has an extra connector at one end. I guess I focused to much on the RCA connectors, because that is what everyone is talking about.

Yeah, that and the fact that for the price of the OEM player you can get a 20-30 Gig MP3 player in your car.
