Buying a 13W7, any tips?

I am about to purchase a 13W7 with a 1000.1 amp in the Prowedge box (sealed).

Anyone have this style installed and have pics? What is the typical dB of this kind of setup?

Buy some comptech headers instead...

I currently am running a 12W7, but I have all my components upgraded and everything with a full dolby II 5.1 surround sound.

Because I'm not one of the few lucky ones to have a 6-speed, I figured my car would sound better than all of theirs.

Don't get this sub unless you're serious about audio.

Well I'm getting it basically brand new (3 weeks old, barely even installed for 2 of them) for $900, which includes full warranty from a great shop, a 1000.1 amp, and the JL box.

I plan on upgrading the components also, but I doubt I'll do the headunit. I wont run it at full gain unless I wanna show off. It has a remote gain feature, so its easy to control the level of the sub without affecting the mids/highs.

And Jonesi I hear ya, but I have a vortech coming in the next couple of weeks for my real car, dont have any real desire to race the CL anymore.

it will give you deep powerful bass, especially with a ported box. a single 13w7 should be fine for you. some say its too bass'y for them but if you want to rock those, by all means! as mentioned before, be sure to have some nice front stage speakers so the bass would not drown out the lyrics of the song lol

Me love W7s!!

That's an awesome price, especially if it's from an authorized dealer.

I love most of the DD stuff, but its not easy to find a deal on very lightly used DD setups.

I've got a pair of lightly used DD2512's. One is the 2004 model, and the other is the 2005 model. email me at NisAznMonk@aol.com if you are looking to purchase them.
