Bose Error message
ive got a very strange thing that happens with my CD changer every so often.
ill get an "er-e1" message and the stareo will switch to radio.. and not let me do anything to get the cds out or played. i thought it was just a problem with burned CDs.. but it happened on a bought CD the other day as well.
after a while.. the cd player will work again, its just annoying.
any ideas what this may be.. i searched and the only thing i found was ONLY with not playing burned cds... which MOST of the time it does flawlessly.

Yeah, I've got the same problem and my car is torn apart as we speak! ...but it MAY be more than just the head unit!
Here's the story: Intermittent problem turned permanent 6 mos ago - 6 CD's are loaded and ALL are originals - tried resetting, using a knife, etc... consulted my Service Writer - he looked at it and concluded that the head unit was probably toasted. So, I placed a "WTB" ad here - got a replacement from a fellow member that removed it for an aftermarket upgrade - was assured that it worked fine.
Upon installation today, I went to test it before putting everything back together, and what do you know!???... I'm STILL getting the "CHECK" then ERROR message.
So, the first thing I think is that I got ripped om the unit. BUT, I can HEAR the CD player cycling and moving to reset after I plug in the PIN and push "CD", so i know that the CD player is working! BUT, there is an error code coming thru - the Stereo and Tape Player still work fine - this is Isolated to ONLY the CD player's function! ...I don't get it!
Could there be a wiring short issue or a computer chip failure somewhere?
Is the CD Player hooked to the PCM or any other module that could be effecting it this way? I'm am totally perplexed!!! this does NOT make sense!!!
