Bluetooth installation on 05 TSX
Because the thread was closed in the normal TSX forum, I am posting pictures of my installation of the Motorola BLNC IHF1000 car kit in my 2005 TSX.
Pictures uploaded to flikr here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/42565990@N00/
The kit is pretty cool, and does voice response and recongition very well. I can say "Call Dad" and it will. And unlike the Acura OEM system, you can say "Phone Voice Tag" and then you can call up any voicetag in your phone. This allows me to do "macros" to call my work voicemail system, etc.
It was installed to mute the stock stereo when a call comes in, and it will tell you who's calling, or if the name isn't in the phonebook, speak the caller ID information. Very nice.
The speaker is installed under the footwell for the driver, instead of patching it into the stereo system (didn't want to potentially add RF noise to the stereo by messing with speaker wires).
Let me know if you have any questions.

Looks sweet. The more pics, the better!
Is this the $300 kit that is 100% plug & play?
1. Motorola BLNC™ IHF-1000Z Premium Bluetooth Car Kit
2. Motorola Speaker Switcher (MSS) for IHF1
3. PPH1721 1998-06 Acura/Honda/Suzuki CelFi™ Plug-n-Play Phone Harness for MSS

Here are the instructions I drafted for the installer (Tweeter):
Installation Requirements/Expectations:
·No wires/cables exposed
·As “factory” looking as possible (do not want it looking aftermarket)
·Reversible installation (in case I want to upgrade later to a better kit)
Installation:
· Hands Free master unit (blue) installed out of sight under dash, on driver side of car
· Hands Free mute lead (yellow) connects to lead #14 on the factory radio
..o Need to add it as a “pin” to #14 on factory radio (on head unit, not amp)
....§ If you give this #14 pin +12 volts, it will mute the radio
....§ If IHF1000 does not send +12V, then insert a relay and/or volt booster as required
....§ Please test mute feature prior to closing things up, as this is the only connection that might require a relay/voltage mod.· To test mute feature, turn on radio (FM) and hit the big M button or “talk” button on the IHF1000 control unit.
· Use shipped speaker, and install speaker in hidden area under dash, but unobstructed to ensure sound is not muffled
· Mic should be installed above the RVM in the liner/header area, so that the mic is not easily seen by driver or passenger). Mic should be just about invisible to driver and passenger, and facing cabin.
· Control unit should be installed such that no wires are visible
· Control unit location to be on the front of the center arm rest, flush, OEM-style.
They installed the "brain" behind the cubbies in the center stack by removing the cubbies. It's a tight fit back there, so I wonder out loud if there's a better place for it.
The wire from the brain to the mic is just tucked up in the liner up the driver side, across the top, and down to the mic.
The mic itself is fastened tight by a self-tightening plastic buckle (not the right name...but it's the kind of think you'll see used to ensure that cables are bound tightly, with notches to tighten to suit). The buckle was fastened by removing the sunglass / overhead light unit and poking 2 small holes through the liner and running the plastic buckle thing through each hole, and then tightening.
Hope this helps. Let me know if there are any other questions or if I need to better explain something.
Same thing with the unit itself... let me know if you have any questions.

I bought the BLNC IHF-1000 Car kit. The 1000z is similar, but it does not include a speaker (http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=948) . If you want to use your car speakers, it seems like this is a better solution. With the 1000z, you would need to get this as well: http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?
Looks like $250 for all the required parts. I paid $300 when it came out new last year.

Sorry... forgot to make the speaker photo "public"
I've created a new area for these photos:

The speaker photo is in this space.

I just had my Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth kit installed and I love it. It doesn't use a secondary speaker it uses your door speakers and it also tells you who is calling and also has voice recognition. It also mutes the radio when the phone rings. It is bad ass. here are some pics.

I had the motorola bluetooth car kit installed and realized that they did not do the automatic mute feature.
How difficult is this to install? Basically, its not a big deal, but I would like to have it. However, if they have to redo the whole install and keep the car for another 2 or 3 hours, I may pass on it.

The Parrot 3200 would have given you automatic mute and surround sound of the cell audio through the audio system (no external speaker which is quite nice). The Parrot is completely plug and play if you get the matching Acura harness - either the QCHon-1 if you don't have an amp in your car or the QCHBB-HA if you do have the amp - see www.quickconnectproducts.com
