big 3 on a 01 CL

anyone done a DIY ? where to mount on the alternator, engine? chassis will probably be easy enough. how long the cables should be and where to route them?

sometimes the stock ground wires are not good enough. They rust and corrode and don't perform very well. That's not good for anything, including your engine performance, audio system and whatever else. Also with high current alternators and audio systems the stock ground wiring is simply not enough. So to remedy the situation you need install 3 wires under the hood. Preferably they have to be high strand zero gauge wire to provide the best possible current flow (about $3-$4 per foot)
1. battery negative to chassis (this one is quite obvious)
2. engine to chassis (because the alternator body is the absolute ground and it is attached directly to the engine)
3. alternator positive to battery positive (help with the charging current I guess)

This will also help with dimming lights issues, noise in sound system, maybe even increase the spark intensity and gas mileage. Overall improvement for your electrical system basically and as it turns out not too hard to do.

I installed just one so far and had no time to finish but maybe I'll snap some pics on the weekend when I finish up and then educate the clueless ones on the subject.
