Battery Problems

So if i leave my radio on for like 10 minutes (at low volume) its enough to kill my battery in my 06 tsx. I think its time for a new one.

After searching around it seemed an Ultima 51R was the way to go. Then i tried to find one, and ran into 2 questions. 1: is a D51R and a 51R the same thing? Some pages referenced one, while others referenced the other. 2: It seems these were discontinued....did they ever fix their problems?

If not, what is a viable replacement these days? I have an apline Pdx 4.100 and a 1.1000 (1400w total) which is why i need more than a sears/kragen generic.

Thanks in advance

Do you have a supercharger? If not, you shouldn't need the D51R which is the small profile battery, why not get a normal sized optima yellow top if you don't have the SC?

sure. What exactly is this "normal sized optima" model #? The 51R is what i have been told but that one seems to be discontinued.

Just like BlackAck, you should be fine with a D75/25 yellow top Optima. I'd just go for that, and do the Big 3 upgrade in your engine bay to help your alternator when the car is on. If you play the stereo a lot with the car turned off, I would add a second battery (something like a Powermaster, Kinetik, etc.) that can play your system with the car off. I'm running about that much power, amp wise, and I don't run my stereo for more than 5 minutes with the car off, and it's never run anywhere near full tilt without the car running...
