Basslink

I thinking about getting a basslink, question, how many of you that have a basslink also have the sub controller with it ? is this something I should also get?

Also on a side note..... I was looking at getting more from my hi's, can a add another set to the stock system, what do you all suggest

I have the Basslink w/ remote control.

I got the remote just a week ago from ordering on Ebay.

The Basslink complements the stock system well if you are looking for a reasonable amount of bass addition. It won't shake the neighborhood, but it sounds really good for all types of music.

It also gets down to 20HZ..something hard for a separate amp & woofer to do without paying a bit more $$$$ to get that low.

The remote wire volume control allows easy bass gain adjustment. You have to set the volume on the basslink to the desired maximum level.... the remote then allows you variation within that range.

Each song has its own unique amount of bass to it. Some songs sound good with alot of bass, others you won't like all the bass with it. So the remote lead lets you adjust on the fly without having to stop, pop the trunk and adjust the levels on the Basslink.

Doing this also decreases your mid-bass output from the stock speakers... so the sound will become "lifeless". The remote is nice because you can keep the bass level up on the deck, and dial in the exact amount of low punch you want while keeping good midrange and mid bass response.

Forgot to add:

to get better highs, you can replace the front speakers with a good component set, but your maximum volume will drop signifigantly due to the ohm difference between the bose amp and the new aftermarket speakers. They will add better sound, just dont expect to be able to crank it too much. You can add a small amplifier to the new components and that will make them sound 10X better... but thats getting into complicated stuff that i'm not sure if you want to do or not.

Well, mines adjusted so I only need to move the bass controll 2 clicks from the center. I still have plenty of midbass, & it sounds fine.

I think I'll try the basslink first without the controller, then add it laster if I think I need it. Is it hard to add the bass controller? does it just plug into the basslink?

The remote's only like $27, I figured it has to be easier to do it all at once. The cheapest place for the remote is Ebay.com or Crutchfield.com

I think it's worth the money.

I'm mounting mine to the right of the steering wheel under the dash.. it's actually very tiny, much smaller than I thought it would be. It's probably only 2 inches wide by 3 inches deep. Comes with a 16ft wire, so you can put anywhere within 16ft of the Basslink.
