Help with Basslink install

Hey everybody, I am having a problem installing my Basslink and I was hoping somebody could help. I tried to search but I couldn't find any answers. Here's what I did (following Silverknight's instructions) -

1) Ran power from the battery to the trunk.

2) Made the ground connection to the same spot as decribed in SilverKnight's article.

3) Tapped into the rear speaker wires and plugged into the speaker level connection on the Basslink.

Now, the problem is that the power, on the Basslink, does not come on. I can't figure out what could be wrong. I tried plugging into the spot on the Basslink for both the front and rear speakers and still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you need to run a remote wire so that the basslink turns on when your headunit comes on...

(this is how i assume it works, no exp with basslink)

Thanks for the reply, but the Basslink has an auto turn-on feature, so I thought that you didn't need the remote wire (not sure though). I might give it a try anyway.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

There is an "auto turn-on" switch that has to be in the "auto" position for it to work the way you want. Otherwise, it uses the REM connection to turn on and off. Don't be surprised that it stays on a little while after you turn the radio off.

Yeah, I set that switch to "auto turn-on" but still nothing.

What do you mean by REM connection?

Remote turn on. I'd go through your connections. Make sure the ground is secure. The power is right. Check fuses. The ones on the basslink, & the fuse at the battery end.

You dont have to have your remote wire hooked up. I installed mine on sunday wihtout using the remote wire and it runs just fine. Check your connections and your fuses.

I got it working today (didn't have the ground wire attached to a good spot).

Anyway, thanks to everyone who replied.
