i would notice it right away .... in fact that license plate frame is considered a violation also. There is suppose to be nothing covering the plate what so ever.

Yes, it displays on the navi screen, and it displays in full color, and has reverse image so you see it exactly as you would in your rearview mirror.

Uummm, I really don't think the customer was worried about the law.

Hello All:

Ron thanks for putting my plate on the site maybe you can fuze it out a bit more so people like BEASON dont ry to re write it out so the NJ cops dont try to hunt me down. LOL!!!

UuMMMMMMMMMMMM! Yep Ron you are correct I was not concerned about the:flamer:law actually I am thinking after they pull me over for speeding they can wash the speeding ticket for lets see, watching a movie in the nav screen, No front plate, no seatbelt, the license frame (which is not illegal because it does not cover any of the plate info nor does it light up)or as one called it defacing the plate by cutting a hole in it for the camera!
Actually Ron is my 20' flip down screen in yet! I want to be able bring it to the cops attention when they pull up behind me! this way they will be able to see themselves in case they missed the plate!

Hey but all joking aside as always RON IS KING another awesome job! And to everyone else be good and dont break the law!

It's not defacing (don't insult Ron or I!) It's custom or as everyone says on here mods

ive seen cameras mounted in other locations that do the same thing and the installation was much more stealth and clean im my opinion. But to each his own .... and as long as the customer is happy who cares...its for his or her own satisfaction.

When I install my motorized LCD in the dash, I also want to incorprate a backup camera system. I need a spoiler first...I like that location best. Was it hard to install there? Also, where do you get everything for the system? Camera...easy, LCD...easier, but where do you get the items to send the video feed and reverse the image on screen?

Camera should be portable too, To film inside the car

That way you can film some stealth back seat leather action and conquests !!!

http://www.ncsl.org/programs/ESNR/tranrm_p.htm#other
Frames and Covers
Nearly all 50 states address license plate frames and covers. Some states directly regulate license plate frames and covers, while other states approach the issue more generally by prohibiting the obstruction of license plate readability. More regulations and prohibitions are imposed on covers than on frames. In a few states - such as Alabama and Wyoming - covers are prohibited but frames are permitted provided that the characters are legible. Many states, although they allow frames, permit only covers that do not alter the color or appearance of a license plate in any way. Covers also raise concerns regarding the use of photo radar.

http://www.ncsl.org/programs/ESNR/tranrev2.htm

California Vehicle Code Section 5201 requires that plates should be clearly legible (MV). Prohibited from covering plate with any materials.

They also require 2 plates on the vehicle as well .

HEY BEASON, I'd bet you that plate reads "LRG-720" or "URG-720" - We'd win if this was one of those acrostic puzzles they have in the sunday newspaper.

Anyway, the install looks cool, although the jagged edge of that hole ought to be smoothed out with a rounded file. (see the 4th pic.) It will tear the heck out of a sponge when you to wash over it while washing the car. Art is in the DETAILS...

Hey Songoku, which spoiler is that one with a support post in the middle? Is that from the Inspire? If so, does it come with the camera mounted, because the shape and all around it is almost too perfect. If that was done afterwards, THAT was a mint install.

as said above, the camera in the spoiler is not custom installed there, it comes as an option in inspires. u would hafta get it shipped from japan...unless you wanna wait for the a-spec and get a custom install in that spoiler...

StreetEffectz: I figured (and hoped) you weren't done with it yet when the pic was taken. That wouldnt be your style to miss something that obvious - you do good work and I wouldn't expect anything less from your shop. Incidentally, for all non Nav TL's, the rear view camera would be perfect matched up to the monitor you were putting into the rear view mirror. WIth a relay tied off the reverse switch, the monitor would automatically turn on when you popped the car into reverse.
