Exclamation AVIC-N2 Problem...Please Help!!!!

Hey guys, I did the bypass about a year and half ago (dont think thats what caused this problem) but I thought I'd share that first. 2 weeks ago the joystick that is used to change songs etc stopped working, and today even when you press it, it would turn off the unit and turn back on (as if it was detached)...now my screen is completely black but can still can be touched (but you cant see what your touching)

There is a faceplate on ebay, would getting a new one of these solve that or is my problem bigger, I really dont think the bypass has anything to do with this...yes i've heard of the screens going black, but my bypass was done correctly and has worked for 2 years now....thanks so much for your help guys

after more research there has been a recall on the ribbon, and Pioneer said it may happen on all AVIC units...so just contact Pioneer and they will fix the problem for you

Yep, just say your post, but I got that email from Pioneer. I was gonna say, it's the ribbon. Mine is still fine, but let me know what the repair process is like. Good luck!

yep, I had to send in my unit as well. I bypassed mine. When I got it back, they had removed the solder. Just be sure to add to solder back when you get it back.
