Is that the fold out one, or the flush one? If it's the fold out one, than VeeralS05 had it in his '03 ABP. Now he has a D1.

you'd have more success in the audio/video section. and it's the fold out version. the d-1 is the one that is flush.

Yeah, I wanted to get the D1 or the D2 but I like the AVIC cause it has NAVI built in, the D series don't. Thanks for the replies.

Furute wife... enough said.

ANYWAYS... I just found the the thread that explained how to do it. I have to take it out now, I just hope that there is enough slack in the lines that I don't have to take anything apart to get to them.

Damn, are you for real? How long after you bought it did it happen? & the damn installed voided my warrenty because I explained to him how to bypass it & when he was doing it, which he didn't even do correctly cause I had to go to radio shack & buy the solider to do it, he burnt my silver sticker & now it has a whole through it. Any idea where I can get another sticker like that?

The Navi on the Avic N2 is on a disc, it is not built into the unit itself. You must have the DVD disc in when you want to look for a POI or a Destination. Thats what I hated about mine. I had to pop in and pop out the Navi DVD to play a CD or DVD.

The D1 is Double Din, Flush, and no motor problems. Plus it has to Disc Slots. One for the DVD Navi, which you can leave in there and another for CD's. So you dont have to keep poping out DVD and CD's to use your Navi.

I have my N1 for about 4 months.

I purchased my D1 from HiFiBuys with an extended warranty for 3 years. Maybe where you purchased your N2 you can get an extended warranty.

Other than that... you'll notice as the motor wears out, cause the screen will take longer to open and close, plus it will start making more noise as it opens and closes.

I was told @ Best Buy that the D series needed the Navi brain for it fo have it. That's why I didn't get it. Damn I would of gotten that one. & thanks for the advice, I'm getting the extended warrenty ASAP. & to fix the problem of me having to take the DVD in & out I'm getting a 6 Disc changer... LoL.

Thanks for all the info. I have to make a DIY thread about how to bypass it w/ all the pics cause the ones out there are good but need some user-friendly instructions.

I feel used. LoL. The one thing I do like about this is that it does sit a bit higher because it's a flip out. So the screen isn't low. But man, I love that clean flush look the D series has.
