avic-d3= speakers blown?

I was going to get an Avic-D3 double din in dash for my 2000 Acura 3.2 TL, but the install place i was getting a quote from was trying to tell me that if i did install it that i would have to run new speaker wires and get new speakers. Now i found the DIY showing me how to retain use of my sub, but will my speakers really blow? have any of you guys had any experience with this? how many of you are running aftermarket HU with stock speaker and sub?
