I appologize if this has already been asked before, I couldn't find anything comparing the two. I'm thinking about doing a navi/dvd set-up in my car. I know the D1 has navi but no dvd playback so the plan would be to have an additional dvd player. And I know the ddx doesn't have navi but again i would add it. So all things considered, which one do you guys think is the better candidate? Thanks in advance for your help

 

pioneer all the way.. personally i have the eclipse avn5495 and its a pretty good unit but there are a couple things that i am not fond of.. but honestly if you are not in a real big hurry you may want to wait on the new pioneer i beileve the model number is avic-z1 or something like that do a search and you will find it.. from the write ups ive seen it is going to be a harddrive based navi with a 10g hard drive for music storage plus it will have dvd playback.. maybe worth the wait.. just my 2 cents..

 

Does anybody know what the cost is gonna be for that unit? The two i'm considering are right around $1000. I dont think I'm gonna spend much more than that

 

Im getting the Pioneer D1 plus additional DVD player in dash as we speak today. I'll post pics tonight or tomorrow when I get it back, cant wait!

Sorry for the delay, I went to pick my TL up last night and it wasnt ready, he was having trouble with the volume controls, it should be done today and then I'll post pics as soon as I can.

 

How much does the install cost if you dont mind me asking? I think thats the same set up i'm going to end up with. Also, did you buy the D1 from the group buy?

 

Well I picked up my TL last night and the D1 is rediculios! Im in love! Also have the DVD player hooked to it installed in the dash and the back-up camera. I will show picks soon. Install and all parts = $2500.

I will go with pioneer Avic-N1 or Avic-N2. I have the N1 and i really like it.
