I was just wondering if anyone out there has polk audio speakers installed in their 2G TL. What size are they? From what I find, we can fit 6.5" speakers in there, but if you check with the vehicle fit guide on polkaudio.com, it says to use 5.25" speakers.

The reason I ask about polk is just because I've had a great experience with them in the past and there are good prices on Ebay for the 5.25" components, but I'm not going to buy them just to find out I should have picked up 6.5" speakers instead. Any info would be helpful.

I'd also like to know about some good alternative brands. I know something like this is all personal preference, but I'd just like to hear some opinions. Thanks.

 

Used polk plenty in the past. Liked them ok. I am also thinking of trading in the blose for some new speakers. Im probably going to go with Boston Accoustics though. Like you mentioned, its all a matter of personal preference.

Almost 100% positive front and rear doors are 6.5". If you do replace your speakers, make sure to research the terminator mod and do it as well.

I have 6.5" polk components for the front and back. You can fit the 6.5" in there using the plastic bracket for the old bose speaker. Just screw new holes and cut a bit to flush the speaker and it'll fit nicely.

its an optional, but simple way to achieve better sound..cheap too.
