Amps

Speakers: Focal Utopia 165W fronts & Boston RM9s for rear fills

JL 300/4 bridged for utopias & JL 300/2 for RM9s

OR

McIntosh MCC404M (100W per channel)

Is the Mcintosh worth the $$?

if you get that amp, you're gonna need something a little beefier than the bostons in the back. is that 100WX4 RMS, or peak? if its peak, the bostons can hang no prob, but rms you'd need MORE BEEF... if you're in the market for the bostons though, im selling mine for a good price. sorry to hijack

100x4 RMS. I guess I could just run my rc620s in the back and utopias in the front.

Mcintosh are great amps, very pricey. I would go with the JL AMP.

Unless you are doing a Performance/Show System no need for Mcintosh,

I have Mcintosh Amps and receiver for my home theatre, cost me a bloody fortune, but great quality

personally i do not think that the Mcintosh amps are worth the cheddar they want for them but they are some fine amps... and if you have the money by all means get it... but there are other amps out there that will give you great quality and save you a little bit of money... me personally i would go with arc audio, zapco, or diamond audio amps..

Thanks for the info guys.

I can get a mc404m for $1200 out the door (MSRP $2100). Is that a good deal? A Zapco 4channel C-series is ~$1500.

The JL Audio amps are the best for he money. You could get a 500/1.....a 300/4......AND a 10W7 for that price

true, but I like the mcintosh sound better.

nicky - The JLs are nice, but the sound is sooooo much better with the mc404 (I used to be running off a 300/4). I have a 12W6v2 off a 500/1 and it rocks!
