Have you talked to any members on AcuraZine that are from Texas that can recommend a good reputable shop?

Are you planning on installing the amp yourself? Is that wy you're asking about kits?

well first of all, the bestbuy guy did point out that there was a LOC installed in my trunk. i dont know if that helps in figuring out the problem or not. i asked the guy if he'd be willing to install an amp and speakers for me on the side outside of bestbuy and he agreed to do so. that's why im looking for amp wiring kits right now. is this one http://cgi.ebay.com/STREETWIRES-8-GA...QQcmdZViewItem any good? what gauge speaker wire should i buy?

StreetWirez isn't bad. Look into knukoncepts also, they're usually very affordable. Same with Stinger.

When getting a wire kit make sure you have the proper gauge power wires and long enough RCAs. Depending on your amp's wattage you may need bigger wire (for speaker amps, multi-channel, you'll probably only need 8 gauge, max 4 gauge if you get a very powerful one).

The one on ebay you listed above, most likely will do the job. If you plan on getting a sub later, you should get bigger power wires now because a 8 gauge won't power both and you'd have to end up replacing it.

Also, when the guy does it on the side, make sure he knows what he's doing. Remember you don't get any warrenty nor insurance that he won't screw up your car when you do it on the side.

besides RCA's and size wire, i don't think it matters what wire kit you get. wire is wire......

I usually just buy generic kits from some random company (wherehouses in downtown). i think 8 ga. kits were like $15, and 4 ga. ran like $22, but i haven't been down there in a few years. They usually come w/ kinda crappy RCA's but if it's not that nice of a system, they're usually good enough. I could never imagine paying the ridiculous prices Best Buy had on like RF kits.

that streetwires one looks pretty good actually, but shipping is kinda a lot. I'm actually running streetwires musica RCA's right now, and they've worked flawlessly for me for the past ~6 years.

i've heard good things about knukoncepts also, but never really looked into it

What size amp kit do you need? I stumbled in to some Streetwires 10ga kits in bulk recently and bought them just because they were cheap. I took the RCA's out of one to cut up and use in my car, but I still have a bunch sealed. Not sure 10ga would work for you, but I'd sell you one pretty cheap.

They are real Streetwires. If I remember right, they have: 20' Red Power, 5' Black ground, remote wire, gold fuse holder, 17' RCA's, assorted connectors, ties and stuff.

Sorry, I know this isn't the for to offer somethign for sale, but thought it might help buiyahkah.
