One question, have you already purchased the speakers for the rear doors? I say that cause I just had my fronts replaced and left the OEMs in the rear and my system sounds amazing. Rears are just for fill. You might end up screwing up the front stage by putting new ones in back.

If you do all 4, make sure whoever does the install has a good ear. Otherwise it could sound bad.

No I haven't purchased them yet! I was planning on it this week! Why, Should I just get the front's and see how it sounds and go from there? If I get just the fronts should I get an amp? If so which one? Or should I just keep it as is with the new speakers?

you should get a PPI amp,,, check the prices at the website:

www.digitalwavez.com

get the 4 channel and the wattage is up to you and your budget,,, 40watts are good enough, but if you wanna go for the 80watts, that's good too, i got that one, it's great!!!

and about the rear speakers,,, go ahead and get it,,, it's sounds great in mine,,, my av system is able to control the db level of each individual speaker and i lowered the db level at the rear,,,, it is a courtesy to have good sounds at the back too when you have rear passengers

let us know what your next move is,, good luck!

Last night I went to talk to the sales guy and he told me that since im keeping my head unit I can't change the speakers because in the Bose system the factory speakers are 2 ohm. and there's a factory EQ that won't allow it. He said I NEED a aftermarket head unit! Is this true? How can I get around it? I don't want to put a new head unit in. I just wanted to put new speakers in with a 4 channel amp. Any suggestions?

I went down this road in my research and here is what I found out.

You can change the speakers out and keep the stock HU as long as you add a more powerful amp. So, you will have to get new speakers and a new amp.

Try and listen to someone who has an amp/woofer addition before you change the amp/speaker combo. You may find that you will do what I did and keep the stock system but add amp/sub.

just my 2 cents

You can still use your HU, just need new amp like was said earlier.
As far as amps, NSXNEXT should speak up and tell you about the Helix Precision HXA-500Q 5 channel amp. High build quality and SQ and very flexible in terms of powering most systems and wiring variations. You can bi-amp your new front components with chnl 1-4 and leave stock rear fill powered from HU and use chnl 5 for sub. If you want to change rear fill then just run fronts with chnl 1-2, rear w/chnl 3-4, and sub w/chnl5. Very flexible and can be used in your next vehicle.
