Amp/sub install, quick question

I've had my double din in my car for a while and decided to go about installing my sub/amp. I got it powered and working but its very quiet. My sub output only has 1 plug where as my amp has two plugs. How should I go about doing that? Y adaptor? Or should I just throw it in the front or rear output? Any advice would be appreciated. sorry, i just know the basics when it comes to these things.

Weird..

Model # of radio? Technically you should be able to throw it on the front and rears you just won't have the "sub control" on the headunit.

That is weird that you only have one sub output. It should always come with two. You can use the Y adapter or follow Jonesi's advice with no sub control on the deck.

Most dvd players on have a single sub output, using a Y adapter just makes it only play mono, and a sub amp is mono so theres no problem, just get a Y adapter and u can keep your sub output function and have more adjustability on your system

Something is off.. I'm curious on the model number before you do anything. Let's look the manual up online and see what's up..

edit - Just saw greenwoods post. Are most dual din Pioneer etc like this? I've never heard of it before but I've never messed with a dual din dvd player.

Yeah, you'll be alright, the only thing you won't have with a Y-adapter is the left right control on the sub. It doesn't sound like you'll be needing that kind of control anytime soon, but just and fyi to everyone else.
