Amp setup suggestions

I've searched the forums but nobody has mentioned whether it would be possible to run both an aftermarket amp and the tsx stock amp at the same time. I have the stock head unit (non-navi). I wanted to run the stock rear speakers and the 6x9's with the stock amp. My aftermarket amp (mtx 564) will power the front speakers (mb quart rce 216) and a subwoofer in the back. Will i encounter problems e.g. noise., or is this even possible?

It's possible.

I have a similar setup (see sig):

rear speakers on stock amp

front components & sub on JL amp

rear deck turned off

You'll probably need an LOC or line driver to eliminate noise. Do more searching and you'll find a number of options discussed in here.

How do you change the tweeters on the dashboard though? Where you put the crossover box? I was wondering if it would be better to leave the tweters on the dash alone and just configure the mb quart as a coaxial.

You just pull them out with a screw driver or other sharp object (on the edge). They plop right out.

I put the right crossover behind the glove box, glued with double-sided tape, onto the wall behind it. The left one is tied to some wiring behind the VSA switch.

I found the tweeters I have to have better sound compared to stock (plus I can adjust their direction). However, I would not recommend them because they are way too bright.

The installer that worked on mine has the amp in the trunk powering the MBQ front speakers and MBQ 6x9's, with the stock rear door speakers on the stock amp for "rear fill". I can still fade from the front 2 speakers to the rear 4 (to relieve rear passengers from bass overload).

I disconnected both of my stock 6x9's after redoing all the interior speakers and setting up the amps. The difference it made is astonishing, so much clearer without the 6x9's interfering with the other speakers and sub.

I took my factory 6x9's out. The stock ones just rattle when you push them hard...they sound like crap! It's funny if you look at the bottom. They have the word "Pioneer" stamped on them....They wouldn't even pay an extra for a nice label!
