amp or no?>

ok heres the deal. I have an amlpine HU 7875. Its has a 60x4 watts per channel and is rated at 27x4 RMS watts per channel. Now i think that is pretty srong for a HU. Sounds great running speakers of the radio. I turn it about 2/3 way and its loud!. Anyway i was wondering should i get a 4 channel amp to run my speakers off of?? most good 4 channel amps are like 30-40 watts per chanel anyway( like the alpine v12 ones) and cost like $300 bucks!!!! now do u think puting in one of the amps with that power rating will make a huge difference. Im think it wont because it is only like 10 more watts. What u guys think? Any sugestions on powerful 4 channel amps for around 200-300???

Thanks for your help.

I would at least amp your components in the front. You dont even need the 6x9's in the rear. I have never heard a head unit that sounded worse after adding a good amp even if it is the same wattage. I have a powerful head unit and my front seperates sounded like crap until I installed an amp. A Phoenix Gold 2 or 4 channel amp could not hurt. I have friends that have a lot more watts in their car than I do, but I have better amps and components than they do and my car is louder and cleaner than theirs. Check this site out for some amps to look at. http://www.sounddomain.com/shop/type/Multi-Channel+Amps

thanks for the advise. The reason i wanted to know this is because i donno if its worth going trough the trouble of installing an amp if its only gonna be a slight improvement. I would have to biuld an amp rack...run wires..etc and of course buy an amp. i know it would sound cleaner but is it really worth it?? for 300 bucks i can get the whole car dynamated for my cleaner bass. know what i mean?

That is true, I need my car Dynomatted bad. My JL's are rattling my car apart. Hopefully some other people can give you some advise as well. You will only know if it is worth it, if you try it I guess. Good luck

I have 2 channel amps. One Alpine and one Soundstream. My friend has a four channel Pheonix Gold, but it was around a thousand $'s. My Alpine runs my seperates. With just the deck I can turn it up all the way, with the Alpine which is a little more powerfull than my deck, I can only turn the volume up a little over half. It is alot louder. I have stock 6x9's, so I have the speakers faded all the way to the front. High's in the front, mids in the middle, and bass in the rear. That way you get a full volume of sound. I used to go to a lot of stereo comps. A good four channel is just as good as 2 good 2 channels. A cheap 4 channel amp can heat up too much if it doesn't have a good design and fan setup.
