amp installed... now no power??? help

I just completed installing an amp in my 03 tl-s but now my stock head unit won't turn on. I have power to the amp I know because its power light is on. In addition to the radio not powering on the 12v outlets in the front don't have power and the windows work but the auto up and down feature on the driver side don't. Please help me figure this one out...
thanks

You mean you have the amp installed, did you mean just all the power cable which is "red" main power(the one connect to the battery) "black" Ground cable and "blue" remote turn on? I need some more info how you did the amp install.

remove the remote turn on from your fuse box, I think you get a wrong remote turn on connection because your amp won't on if your HU did not turn on.

"remote tapped into the brown sheathed wires" do you mean your rca cable?

(1) I will remove the the remote turn on wire from the fuse box and see did it fix the problem first. Also double check did you blow up any fuse.........

(2) If you got all problem fix and I will tap the remote turn on wire to a "ORANGE" wire "before the bose amp" which is the remote turn on for the bose amp.

(3) Do you know which wire is + and - inside the brown shield twist pair?

Inside the brown shield (Blue/Green)+ / (orange/blue)-

On your Rca Jack the wire which is in the center post is + and on the outer post is - also make sure you have a good ground connection. Let me know if there anything else I can help.

Don't know about your sub problem. But the auto up/down window feature needs to be reset everytime the battery is disconnected. To reset the window function... read the owners manual. It's in there somewhere.

Looks like you got the power connection right, did your amp turn off when you turn off your HU and turn on when you turn the HU back on?

Now the problem we looking at will be your signal wiring which include your RCA connection, speaker wire from the amp to the sub, also you need to check the user manual for your amp make sure you are not under "safe mode". Double check your wiring with the wire color for +/- I gave you from the pre post.

when i put the key in to the last position before turning the car on, the amp light comes on for a few seconds and then turns off.... when i turn the engine on the amp light comes on and stays on... turning the radio on and off does nothing to the amp's power... this is what i expected though as the remote is going to an ignition fuse... so now my amp turns on but thats about it, no sound from the sub?? any ideas

(1)You should better use the orange wire before the stock amp for your remote turn on which allow you to turn on/off from your HU.

(2) Where did you connect your ground wire? on the chassic? Then you should sand down the paint to bare metal at that spot and put a lock washer on for a good connection, a lot of time a ground issue will give you a lot problem.

What kind of amp you have, because the signal you tapped in is mono. If you have a two channal amp you should use the left channl for signal input. BTW what sub you are using?

Check on the amp manual and see if there any thing you need to do on the amp if you only have mono input.

Well that what I am thinking too, can you tell me how you tap the rca wire to the signal wire behind the stock bose amp?

Basically I cut one end of RCA's off my RCA-RCA cable.... then I tapped the end of each RCA to each of two wires inside of the brown cable leading to the stock amp

Okay after I read your post again......

Question: then I tapped the end of each RCA to each of two wires inside of the brown cable leading to the stock amp

You suppose to have (1) rca wire (not 1 pair, I mean just 1) after you cut the other end you should have two wire.

I assume you have a pair of rca cable which mean you have 4 wires tapped in the brown shield twist pair. Am I right? If I am correct disconnect either one rca connector from you amp and see anything thing happen.

I'm thinking maybe a Y-cable is the answer... I mean i tried hooking it up with only 1 of the rca endings in my amp and the other one unplugged but it still didn't work... with the y cable i could make those 2 rca endings into 1 and try it then

I see. Here is my setup to give you some more idea.

Alpine MRD-300 mono amp, one rca cable tapped to brown shield twist pair (only one rca jack not one pair). I try with one rca jack plug in the left channel on the amp------ it works fine. Than I have a Y cable which split on rac to two and it works fine also but my amp have 1 or 2 channel setup allow you to choose.

In your case I see you bring out two rca connector from the brown shield twist pair, that mean both of them are mono, you can try to set your amp to mono and plug either one of the (two rca) connector to your amp on the left channel(usually the white one) remeber only one rca connector is connect to your amp.

okay let me understand what you're saying... you have a single rca plug running down that goes to each of the bose amp signal wires?

Yes, two wires inside the brown shield (Blue\green) as + and (orange\blue) as - , one rca wire with one connector to your aftermarket amp and the other end you need to cut it off which gave you two wires also (centerpost +) (outerpost -) tapped it to the wires inside the brown shield in order of + and -.
