Alpine MRD-M500

Hi guys,

I have a MRD-M500 amp with a 12" MTX sub and am having trouble tuning it properly. I have the manual handy http://cartoys.com/cartoy/pdfs/mrdm300_manual.pdf but I am just a complete noob when it comes to this.

If anyone else has this same amp or something similar with similar tuning techniques can you give me your input levels and what not?

By the way this is running out of a stock deck if that makes any difference.

Thanks

How is the amp connected to the deck? What year is your Corvette? What kind of box is the sub in?

I have an 01 cl type s. I used a line converter to the stock amp. I guess its not really running straight to the deck.

Im not to sure about what kind of box it is... I will post a pic tomorrow

It's hard to get good sound from a sub with the Bose deck and amp still in place. The line out converter should be tapped into the rear speaker inputs at the Bose amp. You should be able to tune it fine following the amplifier instructions. Assuming that you have a good box.

I had much much better results after I bought an Alpine headunit and got rid of the LOC and stock bose deck. The bass was loud but had poor sound quality. Didn't cut it for me so I ended up changing all components (front and rear speakers, 2 amps and 1 sub). The results are simply awesome! (well... as long as you get quality equipment)
