Advice needed, all components

Hey, im getting the ball rolling on my system, its going in a 97 cl and I already have a Pioneer Premier DEH-P770MP I have a 12" orion sub at home and a crossfire CFA 555 amp. Im undecided if I should use these or get all new components. SO I need new speakers, rear, front, tweeters sub amp everything. Any advice?? Money isnt a big problem, I get it all at cost so suggest away! I like metal, rock, thrash, and occationally country. (think in flames, children of bodom, metallica, slayer, etc)

any advice appreciated! thanks alot

first things first, u already told us what type of music u listen to so thats good. second, i know money isnt a problem, but how much are u willing to spend, that woudl give us a better idea as to exactly what teir of equipment you are lookin at. Are you going for sound quality or sound pressure level? thanks bro

probably more on quality, but i'd love to be able to blast the kids with crappy systems around the school. Well right now I have 650 cash to go ahead and buy stuff. My friend that works where i'll buy all this told me it would be about 130-150 for pioneer speakers all around. (rear, front and tweeters) Im just a big noob when it comes to systems and whats good vs. bad.

well 650 is cuttin it kinda close for a good system. If you want soundquality, i would put more money in the front speakers and u can probably get away w/somethin in th back. wait, what is the setup for ur car? like speaker size? Where's elduderino at and the other guys? im sure we can fit w/ somethin pretty decent.

I've been waiting to post on this because I've been thinking.

You listen to very different stuff than do, and I didn't want to make recommendations to you that made no sense for you and were based on MY listening preferences.

CFA555 is a decent amp, have worked with them back when. It's a 5 channel amp (50w x 4 and 150w x 1 RMS), so doesn't that mean you don't need a sub amp?

Don't know anything about your Orion 12". It might not play bass you like, tho - you might want a 10". You usually need a smaller faster sub to hit hard on the drums for metal and rock, especially when you don't have like 800W on it. Speed and tightness are easier with a lighter cone woofer. I would also recommend a sealed box.

You already own a HU, so start with it and see how you like it. That HU is a love it or hate it as far as the user interface is concerned.

I usually tell people to stay away from metal tweeters, especially in the TSX. For you, a set of MB Quart 5.25 Reference as coaxes in the CL might be a good call. The titatinum tweeters do sound impressive on metal and hard rock. joerockt likes his Quarts for that reason.

As far as rear speakers go, here I go again (almost): )

R speakers help wtih volume. To turn it up and make it LOUD, you need rear speakers.

But if you want to feel like you're at a concert and Metallica is up in front of you on stage, here's what I'd do: At least put tweeters only in front. If you get rear speaks, get mids only.

So for up front you could use a set of MB Quarts. For the back you could leave it and see how you like Front Stage only, the way the SQ competitors set it up (run your amp 50W to the tweeters and 50W to the mids and have it really clean, with the xover in the amp replacing the xover in the comps), or you could go R mids only.

At my store, if we were doing this for you with $650, I would use a DLS Magnesium series 10", a set of avincar mids and the aluminum version of out tweeter (which I never buy : ), and a set of avincar mids for the rear... or a set of DLS Magnesium MS5s in the front.

But that would cost less then $400 for F speaks and a sub. Even at our retail prices you still have room for a sub box and R mids.
