my amp cuts off when i turn the bass up...i used a good ground in the bottom of my trunk..i had this same problem with the amp before this one too. could it be because i don't have a capicator? i am at a loss for ideas at this point.

 

Are you using the same sub?

 

nope...different sub also

 

Are you running the factory headunit?

 

nope...i originally thought that was the problem so i got an alpine headunit..a pretty good one too and it still cuts off

 

There can be two reason for your problem

1. Your amp may be two small for the subs
2. Your Gain may to high or the Amp jus may jus had it time

try hooking up one sub to the amp and see what happen if it doesn't cut off then. the amp is two small.

 

it is hooked up to one sub though...it's hooked up to last years kicker L7 12"....next week i am buying the JL 500/1 amp, that should make a huge difference in my system

 

granted without knowing what sub and amp you are using, it sounds like a protection circuit firing
