8" subs in rear dash

I posted to this and its gone... drat.
I would advise against, A) if using the OEM amp, and B, because 6x9 woofers have the same surface area, and based on my experience with 8" freeair subs, it's not worth cutting.
OEM amp is about 18W x 8 if you want to use amp numbers rather than HU numbers. It has two HU IC's inside, 4 channels per.
So it would be like running two freeair 8"s off of a head unit.

Ah ha! I don't plan on cutting anything. I am gonna build mountd from below using the 6x9 slots as the ports. Was just wondering if anyone has done it before. I guess I will need to amp'em for sure. Does anyone know who make a good open air 8"
