3rd gen Navi fit 2nd TL

Does anyone know if the 3rd gen Navi unit fits the 2nd gen. I live in Canada and purchased a U.S. car and Acura does not have a Canadian map for this generation. I wanted to swap a 3rd gen since they have maps for Canada after 04.

Thanks in advance, Jamie

It's most likely going to take MUCH more work than is worth it.

All of the rewiring/custom fabricating for the enclosure, etc. = too much work.

I called and asked about software updates, none for Canada. Didn't ask about hardware. They didn't seem like they wanted to help. Maybe because I'm Canadian

u will need the trunk mounted DVD navigation system. the screen, a custom bezel and space to fit the big ass screen. wiring harness should be easy to splice and u will need the GPS transmitter.

or u can build a car-puter

I already have all the above minus the 3rd gen trunk mounted dvd navi system. I just wanted to know if the 3rd gen system will plug and play with the 2nd gen.

Forgot to mention this was all factory installed.

I assume you are asking if the wiring and plugs are plug and play? I would assume they are not. You can always look for the wiring diagrams on each and see what it looks like. I've never seen what you are trying to do done before which means a lot of leg work for you unfortunately.

Plug and play would be correct! A lot of leg work, nah, just another challenge to look forward to! Thanks!

Sounds like a fun project. If there's anything we can help with let us know. Hopefully you don't have to do much wiring and pinning.
