2400 watts!

for my subs im gonna be running something like 2400 watts, and i am doing a self install.

I was going to drop on 1/0 gauge wires, does this require any special wiring, or will it fit in the same spaces as a 4 gauge wire?

also, should i get a completely seperate second battery with isolator, or just replace my stock battery with an optima?

final thing: can store bought boxes handle the audiobahn awq series version 8 flame subs, or are they too powerful. If i were to make my own box, how can i pull off the astroboy look?

Thanks

That is a lot of power, be prepared for rattle. I have 1000 watts and i don't even turn it up all the way. One ime i did and i could feel the car struggling to stay in one piece. Good luck with that.

You probably need a distributor block to convert the power wire from 1/0 gauge to 4 gauge so you can fit the power wire in the amp. Other than that get a farad or 2. Your lights are going to be diming like crazy with 2400 watts, unless you get the optima.
3/4 inch MDF if you are going to build a box.

I have 1/0 guage wiring going in my car. I have one optima up front under the hood, with another optima in the trunk with an isolator. I'm running just shy of 3000watts, so we're in the same ballpark. I have the 1/o going to a distribution block in the rear that breaks off into 4 guage for the amps. I have yet to get everything up and running, but from what I'm told, my setup should work out okay. My only concern is I may have to upgrade my alternator. Good Luck.

-Aaron

PS, if you want an install like astroboy's, you better start saving...$20,000 will get you started.
